Deadline: 21-Dec-21
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is calling proposals for the IsDB-ISDF Poverty Reduction NGO Empowerment Program.
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is a south-south multilateral development finance institution, whose objective is to promote the socio-economic development of its 57 member countries (MPs) spread over four continents (Africa, Asia, Europe and South America). IsDB’s mission is to promote overall human development, with an emphasis on priority areas of poverty reduction, improvement of health, promotion of education, improvement of governance and the prosperity of populations.
The Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) is the organ of the Islamic Development Bank Group in charge of poverty alleviation. It was created in 1426H -Hijri calendar- (Gregorian 2005). The ISFD fights against poverty in member countries through its flagship programs and other modes of intervention. The main objective of operations financed by the ISFD is to reduce poverty. Therefore, the projects and programs undertaken by ISFD are inexpensive, high impact, innovative, results oriented and primarily community driven. ISFD interventions focus on the poorest of the poor, empowering them to create jobs and income-generating activities.
Goals
- The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) recognize the important role of civil society organizations (CSOs), including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as valuable development partners who help promote citizen participation, strengthen sustainability and reduce poverty to accelerate progress towards the SDGs.
- Access to finance remains one of the main challenges for CSOs and NGOs. This obstacle is largely related to the lack of information on the different funding mechanisms, the low quality of CSO projects and campaigns with potential donors. This project aims to help them explore alternative financing models such as crowdfunding and to strengthen their capacity to raise funds for their activities and projects.
- In order to support their activities, these ToRs have been established with the main objective of creating a Crowdfunding Academy (CFA), bringing together valuable partners to build an ecosystem. The crowdfunding academy will organize a crowdfunding workshop for CSOs in connection with the Digital Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy. 20 to 25 CSOs and NGOs will be identified to take part in the training.
Objectives
- Support the NGO / CSO census process on the Tadamon platform by inviting them to join the platform and by sharing the contacts of those with whom the UNDP has already had positive experiences.
- Create an ecosystem relevant partners to empower and support CSOs and NGOs, especially in crowdfunding. Partners should have experience in creating and promoting campaigns, raising funds through alternative funding models, and building the capacity of CSOs and NGOs.
- Crowdfunding webinars : Organize at least 2 webinars with the main local key players in preparation for the creation of the Crowdfunding Academy.
- National roundtable on crowdfunding : Organize a round table to discuss the current state of practices, in this case policies, laws and regulations, and to brainstorm ideas to create an environment conducive to the development of crowdfunding in the country.
- Training of trainers on crowdfunding : Support the local pool of key players and experts and submit them to the “Digital Crowdfunding Academy” program organized in the form of a training day for trainers.
- Organize a Crowdfunding Academy (CFA) (at least five days) for the selected CSOs (at least 20) in order to strengthen their capacity to create crowdfunding campaigns, in connection with the online course of the Digital Crowdfunding Academy.
- Publish all relevant information on the Crowdfunding Academy online and on social networks.
- Campaign monitoring and control after the publication of the projects on the Tadamon platform.
