The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is inviting women civil society organizations to submit proposals to:
- Build capacities of the relevant national stakeholders to advance implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, on Women, Peace, and Security (UNSCR1325).
- Raise awareness on the importance of the proper on importance of the gender equality and women’s rights in the context of peace and security and UNSCR1325.
The Call for Proposal is to support the project proposal activities that will enable enhancing key partners role in advancing the WPS agenda through the identification of gaps in systemic response and implementation of Res1325 in Montenegro.
It is expected to contribute to the overall understanding of the capacity building in the sense of more efficient implementation of the Resolution 1325 in Montenegro. The project proposals are supposed to provide guidelines and prompt action to support for the implementation of the Action Plan 1325 and strengthen role of relevant actors (members and/or staff of permanent Parliamentary committees, cross-party women’s groups, parliamentary secretariat and/or office of the speaker, women’s groups etc.) to place WPS higher on the political agenda and oversee implementation of the above national policies and programs.
The project proposals should capture the whole process and involvement of all interested parties, so it can trigger the open dialogue surrounding peacebuilding, policymaking, security and gender equality efforts and devising WPS strategies.
Objectives
The overall objective of the Call is to strengthen the key stakeholders in the country on women, peace and security commitments, and create enabling environment for the efficient implementation of Res1325.
- Specific Objective 1: Improved capacities to oversee the implementation and appropriateness of peacebuilding, security, economic and finance policies and program promoting the women peace and security and PVE agendas, including national legislation giving effect to the UNSCR 1325, based on the international best practice and evidence. - Objective 2: Improved capacities to engage in a constructive dialogue with CSOs, media and citizens on women, peace and security and PVE.
Funding Information
Total eligible amount of funding under this Call will be cca 50,000 USD.
Duration
From: 1st August 2020 to 1st December 2020
Eligibility Criteria
- Women’s CSOs, women’s CSOs networks and platforms that have specialized knowledge, expertise and track record of working in women’s human rights, gender equality and the area of women, peace and security
- Women’s CSOs/ Women’s CSOs network and platforms with track record in establishing platforms for dialogues, among various stakeholders.
