The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking proposals for “Organisation of Youth Co: Lab India Springboard Programme, National Innovation Challenge and Dialogue and other initiatives to identify and support innovative youth entrepreneurship”.
For this year’s Youth Co:Lab season the focus would be on youth innovation and entrepreneurship addressing the following problems: –
- Digital and Financial Literacy
- Gender Equality and Women Economic Empowerment
- Developing FinTech solutions focused on biodiversity conservation
- Promoting biodiversity-friendly lifestyles through technological solutions in finance
Funding Information
- Disbursement and management of 8 grants for a total value of USD 34,000.
- Expected duration of work 7 months
Eligible Activities
- To achieve the above objective, the service provider is expected to carry out the following activities:
- Design and implement the Youth Co:Lab 2022-2023 Roll Out Plan that would include the communications strategy and plan, Service Provider’s network with the established media houses and PR organizations, incubation (Springboard) plan and details.
- Needs assessment of the 20 selected start-ups which will be leveraged to create a report
- Outreach and assessment of applications.
- Conduct the 2-month national springboard program with 20 teams (2 members each), including the pitch day/innovations showcase.
- Conduct 2-day National Innovation Challenge and Dialogue with relevant skill sessions, workshops, networking events etc followed by the Youth Co:Lab Finale;
- Management of 8 grants to distribute among the top 8 teams which may be released in tranches
- Support in knowledge management of the program.
- Expected Outcomes
- Submission of the Youth Co:Lab 2022-23 Plan with the three components/sub plans as mentioned above in the scope of work and creation of the microsite.
- Ensuring a minimum of 200 quality and relevant applications and assessment of the applications to shortlist the top 20 (5 start-ups under each theme) and the best 8 (2 per thematic area) would be provided a small grant for scaling up their start- up.
- Needs assessment of the 20 selected start-ups which will be leveraged to create a report
- Implementing and managing a 2-month incubation (Springboard) program for the 20 teams in coordination with the UNDP YCL team and the National Innovation Challenge to select the winners.
- Conduct 2-day National Innovation Challenge and Dialogue with relevant skill sessions, workshops, networking events etc followed by the Youth Co:Lab Finale;
- Support development of Annual Youth Co:Lab Report along with a digital short publication for external communication, after movie and other related knowledge products.
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals are invited from the institutions/organizations only. Proposals submitted by individuals will not be accepted.
- The lead Service Provider/service provider should have demonstrated at least 5 years of previous experience and competence in conducting nationwide and multi state incubation programs for social entrepreneurship with demonstrated experience of supporting at least 15 youth startups.
- Service provider should have a robust network of at least 10 organizational and institutional stakeholders (including govt, pvt sector, CSOs) in the youth social entrepreneurship/green entrepreneurship space that will be leveraged for this initiative along with outreach;
- Service provider should demonstrate 3 years previous experience and competence in hosting successful social media campaigns reaching large audiences (up to 15,000 persons per campaign).
