The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking proposals from eligible entities for a program entitled “Enhancing livelihoods for Local and Refugee hosting Communities in Northern Uganda”.
The intervention will target youth and women groups from refugee hosting and local communities along borders. The groups will be supported in income generating activities, productive equipment and market access ad linkages.
Focus Activities
- Provide of small start-up grants for income generation activities to 50 groups of youth and women.
- Provision of livelihoods productive equipment to 50 groups of youth and women.
- Support and facilitate creation of market access and linkages for 50 groups of youth and women.
Expected Outcomes
- Inception Report and Action Plan
- Facilitate and support 50 groups of youth and women
- Start-up grants for income generation activities provided to 50 groups of youth and women
- Livelihoods locally produced equipment provided to 50 groups of youth and women
- Support and facilitate creation of market access and linkages for 50 groups of youth and women
- Submission of final report documenting transformation stories, key lessons, challenges, and other useful relevant information.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be legally registered and authorised to operate in Uganda;
- At least 5 years of professional experience in providing livelihoods support and enterprise enhancement to youth, women and vulnerable groups;
- Ability of the contracted organisation to create capacity support synergies within region is an advantage;
- At least 3 years of professional experience in delivering similar assignments;
- A team of technical experts and support staff should be dedicated by the organisation to the implementation of the required intervention.
