The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is calling for Expression of Interest (EOI) to identify eligible Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for prospective partnerships supporting the delivery of the UNICEF Country Program of Tajikistan and Early Years programmatic priorities for 2022.
The overall aim of the current UNICEF country programme, that has started in 2016 and will be carried out until 2022, is to accelerate progress towards the realisation of the rights of all children in Tajikistan, with special attention to closing equity gaps at different stages of the life cycle. Within its Early Years programming, UNICEF provides the expertise to the Government of Tajikistan focusing on sector coordination and on leveraging strategic partnerships, to ensure improved maternal and child health, WASH, Nutrition and Early Childhood Development.
Outcomes and Objectives
- Outcome: More children, including the most marginalized, are surviving, healthy, well-nourished and developing to their full potential in their early years, with focus on the first 1,000 days.
- This outcome will be achieved by pursuing the following objectives (outputs):
- Output 1. 1 MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH: Mothers, newborns and children will have equitable access to sustainable and quality essential integrated packages of maternal and newborn, child health in targeted areas
- Output 1.2 WASH: Mothers, newborns and children have equitable access to clean water, improved sanitation and hygiene (including at health facilities) in targeted areas.
- Output 1.3 NUTRITION: Mothers, caregivers and young children will have equitable access to accelerated programs for the prevention and management of stunting and other forms of malnutrition in targeted areas.
- Output 1.4 ECD: Girls and boys (from the conception to the age of 6 years) and care givers will have access to quality early childhood development services in targeted areas
Eligibility Criteria
CSO must:
- be registered in country of origin (national and international NGOs);
- not be an entity named on any of the UN Security Council targeted sanction lists.
Exclusion Criteria
CSO submission which:
- are not sent in sealed envelopes;
- are not sent or delivered by hand to the UNICEF office before the specified deadline;
- do not include all required documents duly completed and signed or do not comply with specifications set in this Call for Expression of Interest;
- are not submitted in English, Russian or Tajik languages; will be excluded from the selection process.
