The Veolia Environmental Trust’s Environmental Improvement Grant scheme is now available for organisations seeking funding for a project which will result in a landscape-scale improvement to the environment such as habitat creation/management, and/or species protection.
Priorities
The Trust is looking for ambitious and imaginative projects which will make a local, regional, national and global impact on the environment by:
- Protecting and expanding threatened habitats
- Protecting and increasing biodiversity
- Having the widest impact on the environment
- Monitoring, assessing and promoting the impact
Funding Information
- The minimum grant is £75,000, and there is no upper limit.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be already enrolled with ENTRUST as an Environmental Body, and a registered charity
- The applicant must have experience of delivering projects funded through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF)
- The project must be located in England and meet ENTRUST requirements
- The project cannot have started and must complete within 18 months
- There is no upper limit for grants of £75,000 or less, applications will be accepted via Trust’s community grants scheme.
- Contributing Third Party payment is applicable.
Guidance
- The project should be led by an organisation with proven expertise in delivering similar successful environmental improvement projects. The Trust is though supportive of the applicant engaging other partner organisations to achieve the outcomes.
- The Trust will consider funding staff costs but these costs must relate to physical activity at the project location (not EB overheads) and job specifications will be required.
- If the project is to take place across multiple sites, each location will require a separate ENTRUST registration.
- The project should achieve good value for money
- Utilise volunteers well
