Deadline: 1-Oct-21
The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (CFMV) is offering General Grant to improve the quality of life for all residents.
Funding is available for eligible Mahoning Valley organizations. While there are no specific funding priority areas, requests should address needs of the Mahoning Valley community and its residents. Requests submitted through this application are shared with the Community Foundation’s advised funds that participate in grantmaking, and approved grants reflect our fund holder’s personal philanthropic interests.
To fulfill this mission, the Foundation will:
- Identify and support community based charitable purposes in the areas of arts and culture, education, community well-being, health and human services and other philanthropic interests of its donors
- Encourage collaborative efforts to bring diverse groups together for the benefit of the community
- Respond to community needs through philanthropic leadership, commitment, and compassion
- Demonstrate accountability and integrity in the management of resources
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations eligible to receive grants from the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley are those determined by the IRS to be public charities. This encompasses most charitable, scientific, social service, educational and religious organizations described in 501(c)(3) of the tax code, as well as government entities and public schools.
- Organizations that are not public charities may apply through a fiscal sponsor.
- Activities proposed by the requesting organization must directly benefit residents of Mahoning or Trumbull Counties (or the surrounding area).
- Grants may cover organizations’ programmatic, general operating, or capital needs.
