The Wesleyan Foundation Large Grants program is now open to support good causes throughout the UK.
Nottinghamshire Community Foundation (NCF) is an independent charity, set up to encourage philanthropy for the benefit of the people in Nottinghamshire. Their unique approach to philanthropy allows individuals and businesses to support their own specific local interests and causes and in doing so invest in the future of their community.
Priorities
- Improved mental health including increased resilience
- Strengthened sense of belonging and togetherness in local communities in light of growing divisions & hate crime
- Increased wellbeing of older people recognising the challenges of an aging population and vulnerabilities in rural areas
- Reduced homelessness and promotion of sustainable and suitable housing
- Improved life chances for young people by addressing the challenges that affect young people, incl. poverty & knife crime culture.
Fund Aims
Grants will be considered from charities and constituted voluntary and community groups that focus on:
- Education – Charities or projects that enhance learning and develop career opportunities.
- Health – promoting health and wellbeing.
- Social – provide local solutions to meet local needs, promote community cohesion and develop sustainable & supportive communities
Funding Information
- The grant available is between £2,000 – £10,000 and should be completed within one year.
- Assessments will take place in May/June with grants panel making decisions in June 2021.
Please note:
- Grants can be made for a wide range of purposes including consumables, project or activity costs.
- No more than 10% of the project costs can be assigned to operational / costs.
- Your application value must be no more than 20% of the organisation’s annual income.
- Your organisation’s income level must be less than £500,000, as shown in your most recent annual accounts.
- If previously funded by Wesleyan Large Grants, you will not be able to reapply for funding for 3 years after the award of the initial grant
Priority Area
Grants are available to groups based within the region covered by the Wesleyan network – applications are invited from groups based or delivering projects in Nottinghamshire.
They will fund
- Groups that have been running for at least 2 years.
- Salary, equipment or volunteer costs that are clearly budgeted and only used for the project – evidence will be required.
Eligibility Criteria
You can apply to this fund if you are one of the following:
- Registered Charities
- Constituted Community Groups
- Companies Limited by Guarantee with charitable aims
- Community Interest Companies
- Co-operatives – registered Community Benefit Societies and registered Industrial and Provident Societies
