Deadline: 19-Jul-23
The Fore is seeking applications for its Grant Programme.
The Fore’s rigorous, equitable, transparent approach screens thousands of small charities and social enterprises (turnover under £0.5m) to identify those with exceptional leadership, innovative ideas and cost-effective solutions.
They bring together businesses, trusts and foundations, philanthropists and individuals who want to create impact by sharing their skills and resources with the best small charities.
Purpose
- To select the highest-potential small charities and social enterprises
- To source the funding and skills these charities need
- To accelerate their impact
Elements
- This consists of three simple elements:
- Answering a few simple, factual questions
- How many full-time equivalent members of staff you have.
- The amount of funding you’d like to request.
- How many years you’d like the funding to be paid out over.
- Compiling and submitting a three-page application document
- This should be no longer than three A4 pages – including the financial table below – in Word or PDF format. They encourage you to copy and paste content from past funding applications, or anything else you have already written. Please see below for more information on what to include.
- Uploading the latest set of financial accounts, if available
- They will need to see your latest set of audited accounts. If these are not available, please upload the latest set of management accounts or the latest financial report that you have.
- Answering a few simple, factual questions
Funding Information
- The Fore will make grants of up to £30,000 which may be spread over one to three years.
Eligibility Criteria
- They accept applications from registered charities, community interest companies, charitable incorporated organisations and community benefit societies.
- They can only accept applications from companies limited by guarantee if they are also Registered Charities or Community Interest Companies. Otherwise, they cannot accept applications from companies limited by guarantee, even if they have other elements associated with social enterprises (such as asset locks, non-distribution clauses or charitable/social purposes).
- They are unable to fund organisations whose registration (as a charity, community interest company, charitable incorporated organisation or community benefit society in the UK) is in process but has not yet been approved. Please do not register for one of The Fore’s funding rounds until you have received confirmation from the relevant regulator that your registration has been approved.
- The organisation needs to have a base and be registered within the UK.
- The Fore only provides grants to organisations with less than £500,000 annual income in the previous completed financial year. Unfortunately, even if your income this current year will be under £500,000, you cannot apply until next year.
- You can reapply. They would strongly advise you to note how you have taken account of any feedback previously supplied by the Fore. Please ensure that your application is sufficiently different from previous unsuccessful attempts. You should make sure that you have clearly addressed how the funding will create a step change for your organisation.
