The City of Stockton is pleased to launch the Urban Farmers & Cottage Foods Grant Relief Program to assist entrepreneurs with local food availability and program development while aiding to increase community access to fresh, healthy, and affordable foods.
Funding Information
- Eligible businesses may receive grants of $3,000 for tools, construction materials, equipment, supplies, materials, displays, signage, and fencing, while funds are available.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for funding:
- A valid and current City of Stockton Business License number.
- The business address location is within the city limits of the City of Stockton.
- Proof of operational business in the City of Stockton prior to grant approval, which will be validated by the business license.
- Be an eligible for-profit or non-profit entity: urban gardener/farmer, community garden, urban farming enterprise, farmers market vendor, cottage food entrepreneur, etc. The City reserves the right to deem the type of businesses that are ineligible.
- Follow permitting requirements to operate as required by the City.
- Provide a brief explanation of how the program grant funds will be used.
- Be a business owner that has a current household income not to exceed 80% of Area Median Income (AMI).
- Non-profits must retain or create at least one full-time employee equivalent position for a person from a low to moderate-income (LMI) household.
