The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement the Judicial System Strengthening Activity.
The overall goal of this activity is to strengthen an independent judiciary and thereby improve justice for all and the rule of law in Uzbekistan.
USAID/Uzbekistan intends to make one award for a new Judicial System Strengthening Activity. The activity will be a four-year, $8 million intervention with the overarching goal to strengthen an independent judiciary and thereby improve justice for all and the rule of law in Uzbekistan.
The objectives of the Judicial System Strengthening Activity are:
- Objective 1: Administration of Justice Strengthened;
- Objective 2: Professionalism and Integrity of the Judiciary Improved;
- Objective 3: Openness and Public Trust in the Judiciary Strengthened.
The program will support the three main branches of the judiciary and increase engagement between the judiciary, the private sector, civil society, citizens, and media.
Funding Information
- USAID intends to provide $8,000,000 in total USAID funding over a four-year period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility for this NOFO is not restricted. Qualified U.S. and Non-U.S. organizations may participate under this NOFO.
- USAID welcomes applications from organizations that have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
