The United States Government, represented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking concept notes and upon invitation, full applications for partnerships between higher education institutions in the United States and Mozambique through this Mozambique University Career Development Centers Addendum to the Higher Education for Leadership, Innovation, and Exchange (HELIX) Annual Program Statement.
Objectives
The objectives of the Mozambique University Career Development Centers Addendum are to:
- Establish pilot career centers in Mozambican public universities that are sustainable;
- Provide career guidance and employability services;
- Assist undergraduate student links with companies for internship opportunities; and
- Establish systems for analyzing labor market needs and program monitoring that tracks employment outcomes among Career Center users and university students.
Focus Areas
- The goal of this Addendum to the HELIX APS is to create Career Centers (CC) inside public universities to enable Mozambican public universities to increase the employability of their graduates and to create sustainable links to the private sector and industry.
Funding Information
- The estimated amount of funds available for the award is $2,000,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- USAID defines “Implementing Partners” as U.S. and non-U.S. non-governmental organizations that can design and implement assistance activities outside the United States. All Implementing Partners must be legally registered entities under applicable law and eligible under the relevant laws to receive funding from a foreign source. Individuals, unregistered, or informal organizations are not eligible to be Implementing Partners. NPI provides further details on eligibility, depending on the approach to partnership.
- Eligibility for the Mozambique University Career Development Centers Addendum is limited to a higher education institution as the primary Applicant (“Prime”) from anywhere in the world; however, Concept Notes must include partnerships between at least one U.S. Higher Education Institution (HEI) and at least one HEI from Mozambique. Concept notes must meet at least one of the NPI modalities listed in Section III of the HELIX APS.
