USDA-NRCS: Conservation Outreach 2021 Program (US)

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is seeking support from natural resource conservation partners to provide outreach promoting NRCS programs that enhance conservation delivery in Louisiana.

Utilize outreach efforts to increase awareness of soil health, sustainable agricultural practices and conservation. Increase participation in NRCS programs and services by socially disadvantaged, limited resource, women, veterans and beginning farmers and ranchers in Louisiana through such methods as described below:

Conducting Conferences, Urban Ag Workshops, Joint USDA Outreach Meetings, Women in Ag Conferences, Farmers Cooperatives Workshops, Regional Summits, Conservation Demonstration Tours, Establishment of School and Community Gardens to function as a living classroom for targeted audiences, Engaging youth and community stakeholders in the implementation and maintenance of a walking trail and wetland park within a geographical area.
In light of the COVID pandemic, the above-listed Outreach Task will be done in accordance with local, state, and national guidelines regarding COVID safety and social distancing.

Funding Information

The total amount of Federal funding the agency expects to award through this opportunity is up to approximately $2,000,000.00 awarded to multiple FY2021 recipients.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for this opportunity is limited to the following entity types:

City or township governments;
County governments;
State government;
Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized);
Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education);
Nonprofits that do not have a 501 (c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education);
Private institutions of higher education;
Public and State-controlled institutions of higher education;
Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments);
Special district governments;
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities.
