Repsol Sinopec is pleased to announce that the VAO Small Grants Scheme is now open to receive applications for 2021-22.
They are grateful to both Repsol Sinopec and Liam McArthur MSP for their donations which the VAO Board has decided to disburse as grants in order to support the work of small, community groups.
Priorities
Priority will be given to:
- Projects or activities that support recovery and renewal eg reopening services or premises or addressing wellbeing issues for members/beneficiaries.
- Projects and activities that aim to address inequalities.
- Organisations that have not previously received an award.
Funding Information
- Up to £500 maximum for a project or activity to help their community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Groups with charitable objectives (excepting party political groups), are eligible to apply.
Application Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- The total cost of the project should not exceed £5,000.
- The annual core income of the organisation must not exceed £50,000.
- The project applied for must demonstrate local impact.
- Grants will cover one off costs such as equipment, materials travel within Orkney, etc. but will not cover building/repairs, on-going costs, such as salaries, rents and other running costs.
- Grants will not be awarded for travel outwith Orkney
- Only one application is allowed per organisation each year.
- A maximum of £500 will be awarded.
- Purchases to be ‘green’ and local where possible.
