The Variety the Children’s Charity has launched an open call for the BeKids Grant Program to provide practical equipment to help WA kids have a fair go.
The items funded will help kids access the community, extracurricular endeavours and support their wellbeing. They provide assistance that is not accessible through government funding and alternative services.
Funding Information
- Request limit $400
- Household Income limit $50,000 pa
Ineligible Requests
- Items where funding is available from the government or other grant funds
- Individuals 18 years of age and older
- Projects that require recurring funding
- Expenses considered to be part of an individual’s typical cost of living
- Travel expenses – including public transport and petrol
- Retrospective expenses
- Incomplete application forms
- Services or therapies
Eligibility Criteria
- Child must reside in WA
- Child is aged 0-17
- Child is affected by financial hardship or disadvantage, and may also have a long-term health condition or disability.
- The annual family household income is below the guide
- Equipment is not available via government funded or alternative service
Additional Information
- Variety BeKids grants rounds are typically open between January to October, however this is subject to change at Variety WA’s discretion. Current information will be available on the website.
- Submissions are reviewed by the Kids Support Committee; a group of qualified professionals representing allied health, community and education sectors.
- Outcomes are communicated 2-4 weeks after the respective round closure.
- If a submission required additional review, it may delay the outcome.
