Applications are now open for the Variety EduKids Individual Grants Program to help WA children receive an education by providing funding for vital ‘back to school’ equipment such as stationery, uniforms, laptops, tablets and more.
They provide assistance for items that are not accessible through government funding and alternative services.
Funding Information
- The applicant can apply for multiple items from column (A) as part of a single grant request.
- Applicants can also apply for items from both column (A) & (B), however the request limit is not exceeded the combined total (E.g. (A) $350 + (B) $1320 = $1670 maximum per child).
- The items must be directly related to the child education and schools compulsory requirements only.

- Request Limit: $350 inc gst
- Household Income Limit: $50,000pa
- B
- Tablets / iPads etc
- Laptops / computers
- Software
- Request Limit: $1,320 inc gst
- Household Income Limit: $70,000pa
- Please note:
- If your income is over the suggested limit you may choose to apply, however you need to be able to demonstrate extraordinary hardship, expenses and/or circumstances.
- If the equipment required exceeds the request limit, you can request additional funds if there is clearly demonstrated need outlined within the application & supporting documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a Variety EduKids Individual Grant the following criteria must be met:
- child must reside in WA
- child must be aged 4-17
- child must be enrolled and attending (or will be attending) primary or high school in 2022
- child must be disadvantaged (financially, geographically or socially), have a disability or a long-term health condition
- family household income should be below the threshold
- equipment being applied for should be not available through government funding or alternative
Ineligible Requests
- Equipment/items where funding is available from government / other grant funds
- Individuals 18 year of age and older
- Non-tangible equipment (warranties, maintenance, repair, plans, internet / subscriptions etc)
- Experiences / excursions
- Incomplete application forms
- Services / therapies
- Retrospective funding.
