The Veolia Environmental Trust is seeking applications for its Habitat and Biodiversity Grant Program to support a wide range of community and environmental projects throughout England. It is a Registered Charity (1064144) established in 1997 under the Landfill Communities Fund.
Funding Information
- a project that will physically start within four months of being awarded a grant
- a project that will complete within 12 months of its start date
- a project with a total cost of no more than £250,000
- a grant application requesting between £10,000 and £75,000
- a project where the 10% CTP payment has been secured, which is required to release the grant
What will they consider?
- Organisation
- an application from an Environmental Body (EB) enrolled with ENTRUST
- an organisation that accepts any grant awarded will incur an additional CTP cost
- Project Site
- a project resulting in physical improvements to a single site e.g. woodland, nature reserve, waterway
- a project with all permissions (e.g. Environment Agency) in place at the time of application
- a project where the applicant is the landowner or has a formal agreement (e.g. a lease) with the landowner, with at least six years of the term remaining
- a project on local authority-owned land, where the council will provide written consent for the project to take place
- Project Registration
- a project which is already registered under Object DA with ENTRUST, at the time of application you will need to upload the project details you submitted to ENTRUST and approval letter to your grant application form
- Project Costs
- physical improvement works which will result in habitat improvements and/or increase in biodiversity
- staff costs which directly relate to completing the physical improvements at the project site (e.g. Volunteer management)
- equipment required for project delivery
What they will not consider?
- Organisation
- an application from an organisation which is not an Environmental Body (EB) already enrolled with ENTRUST at the time of application
- Project Site
- a project which takes places on multiple sites
- the purchase of land
- Project Registration
- an application from an organisation which has not already received project approval from ENTRUST
- Project Costs
- EB overheads and site running costs (e.g. staff salaries, rent and maintenance fees)
Eligibility Criteria
- Their Nature Conservation Grants Schemes are available to Environmental Bodies (EBs) who are already enrolled with Landfill Communities Fund regulator ENTRUST.
