Voice is currently inviting targeting (informal) groups or organisations for its Tanzania Empowerment Grants to raise awareness, develop transformative leadership, build confidence and skills and work against stigmatisation of marginalised and discriminated groups.
Voice is a new innovative grant facility that supports the most marginalised and discriminated people in ten low- and lower-middle income countries in Africa and Asia. It aims to amplify and connect thus far unheard voices in efforts to leave no one behind.
Funding Information
- In Tanzania, empowerment grants are available from €5,000 up to €25,000 on a rolling basis.
- Empowerment grants are smaller grants with a maximum timeframe of 24 months.
Impact Themes
- Improving access to (productive) resources (finance, land and water) and employment
- Improving access to social services, health and education in particular
- Fostering space for political participation
Focus Areas
- People with disabilities (PWD)
- Women facing exploitation, abuse and/or violence
- Age-discriminated vulnerable groups, notably the young and the elderly
- Indigenous groups and ethnic minorities (Pastoralist, Hunters and Gatherers)
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant/lead-applicant (where application is by a consortium) registered as a local entity under the laws of Tanzania with a bank account in the name of the organisation.
- Organisations can independently submit a grant application or form part of a consortium in a joint application.
