The Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund (CEPF) has announced a call for proposals for the Small Grants Program to support poverty alleviation and economic development of communities whose livelihoods depend on this important ecosystem.
The Wallacea Partnership Program is a grant program for civil society organizations to conserve biodiversity in ecosystems with high biodiversity but highly vulnerable to damage and extinction.
The Wallacea Partnership Program is supported by the Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund (CEPF) which is a joint initiative of l’Agence Française de Développement, Conservation International, the European Union, the Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan and the World Bank, and has entered its second term (Wallacea Partnership Program II , period 2020-2024).
Bird Indonesia as a Regional Implementation Program/ RIT opened the 3rd request for proposals in the Wallacea II Partnership Program and invited civil society organizations that have competence to submit grant proposals with the topic “Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries Management”, which includes one or a combination of several parts. following:
- Build partnerships with the private sector (Fish Processing Units/UPI, Suppliers, Associations, etc.) and involve them in small-scale fisheries management practices and conservation areas.
- Development and improvement of sources of income for coastal communities through sustainable use of fisheries and marine resources.
- Development of site-level policies and funding in support of sustainable small-scale fisheries governance (For example: RPJMDes, RKPDes, Village Funds/ADD Budgets, Village Funds/ DD, and other sources).
- Strengthen community-based conservation actions against endemic and priority species, which include reducing threats (hunting, trade, consumption, etc.) and their management at the community level for conservation purposes.
Strengthening the governance and effectiveness of community-based marine protected areas that contribute to the welfare of coastal communities.
Funding Information
- The proposing organization has experience in managing grant-funded projects worth USD 15,000 or at least Rp. 200,000,000.
- Projects that can be funded have a minimum period of 12 months and a maximum 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- The proposer is an Indonesian civil society organization working in one of the Priority Marine Corridors in the Wallacea area, and has experience in coastal and marine conservation projects and sustainable small-scale fisheries management.
- The proposing agency has legality (deed of establishment of organization, SK establishment or establishment, as well as other legal documents) and an accountable financial management system.
