The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is seeking applications for its Ally Grant Pilot Initiative to foster the development of new and/or emerging diverse-based nonprofit organizations that support diverse business communities, with a specific focus on organizations WEDC has not previously funded.
The program is designed to support minority, women, LGBT, and veteran business development through direct assistance to nonprofit organizations in Wisconsin. The funding is intended to promote investment and job retention and creation in diverse communities and underserved markets by increasing access to capital and business development training opportunities.
Program Goal
The goal of the Diverse Business Development Program (DBD) is to support existing, new and expanding minority, women, LGBT, and veteran owned businesses in the state of Wisconsin.
Funding Information
WEDC will fund up to nine organizations, with a total of $225,000 in funding available during fiscal year 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications for this pilot program must be diverse-based nonprofits that have not received prior WEDC funding. WEDC will evaluate applications based on demonstration of plans to develop and grow organizational competencies, strategies, systems and/or structures to improve stability and build sustainability of the organization.
