The Women’s Foundation in Georgia announces the grant competition “Protection of women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights “, the financial supporter of which is the Swedish Association for Sexual Education RFSU.
The grant competition aims to support initiatives aimed at empowering women, increasing their knowledge and skills on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues , changing existing policies, practices , views and attitudes towards these issues, as well as sexual Strengthening and protection of network work of female human rights defenders working on rights .
The Women’s Foundation welcomes initiatives focused on social change in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Priority Areas
- The priority areas of the grant competition are:
- Empowering women and girls, promoting networking with their direct participation and leadership
- Increasing Women’s and Girls’ Access to Reproductive Health Services / Awareness Raising / Knowledge Generation / Dissemination
- Advocacy / lobbying ( including budgetary advocacy ), conducting advocacy campaigns with the involvement of various interested parties ( parents , guardians, sexual partners , social workers, police officers , etc. )
- Conducting research on women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Raising the sensitivity of decision makers on issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights. Ensuring networking with decision makers and service providers
- Strengthening of public / community monitoring and accountability systems ( including budgetary monitoring)
Thematic Areas
- The thematic areas of the competition include, but are not limited to :
- Access to comprehensive sexuality education;
- Access to stigma- free information and services regarding contraception ( including emergency contraception );
- Access to stigma- free abortion information and services;
- STD prevention and treatment;
- Prevention and subsequent response to sexual and gender- based violence;
- Detection, documentation and response to cases of violation of sexual and reproductive rights of women and girls and facts of discrimination;
- Protection of reproductive / sexual rights of those groups of women who experience several forms of discrimination;
- Empowering young women and girls
Funding Information
- The grant amount is 25,000 GEL. The duration of projects should not exceed 6 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following can participate in the grant competition “Protection of women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights “:
- Local registered women’s non-governmental organizations;
- Organizations that work on women’s issues and are led by women;
- Women’s organizations whose budget is smaller than the budget of the Women’s Fund;
- Women’s organizations from the capital and regions of Georgia, as well as regional or international organizations based in Georgia and operating in Georgia
- The Women’s Fund will give priority to initiatives of organizations operating in the region.
