The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched a call for proposals to support local women’s and young women’s civil society organizations in Haiti to increase their active participation and leadership in humanitarian response, protection of women and girls, and economic recovery.
This call for proposals aims to support projects that improve women’s participation and leadership in humanitarian responses, in strengthening the protection of women and girls, and in socio-economic recovery and political decision-making in peacebuilding contexts.
The call for proposals is also open to support local women’s and young women’s rights organizations working in these areas through institutional funding.
Funding Information
- WPHF seeks to fund eligible local organizations in Haiti through the following funding modalities:
- Programmatic funding of $30,000 to $200,000
- Fund CSO programmatic activities aimed at (i) promoting women’s meaningful participation and decision-making in humanitarian and crisis response (in line with WPHF Impact Area 3) OR (ii) strengthening the protection of women and girls (in line with WPHF Impact Area 5) OR (iii) supporting the socio-economic recovery and political participation of women and young women in peacebuilding contexts (in line with WPHF Impact Area 6).
- Institutional funding from USD 2,500 to USD 30,000
- Strengthen the institutional capacity of local civil society organizations working on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Program in order to strengthen their organizational capacities.
- Programmatic funding of $30,000 to $200,000
Eligibility Criteria
- National, regional or local women’s rights organisations (feminist organisations, etc.) as well as youth organisations are eligible to apply. Organisations in both categories led by women or young women would be an advantage.
- Women and young women-led organisations that face multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination are encouraged to apply, including displaced persons, LGBTQI communities, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, etc.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following organizations are NOT eligible to apply for a WPHF grant:
- International non-governmental organizations;
- Government bodies or institutions;
- United Nations agencies or members of United Nations country teams;
- Individuals;
- Private sector entities;
- Universities and educational or research establishments
