The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is accepting applications for the Youth Climate Action and Financial Education Program.
Objective
- Support initiatives to mobilize and engage children, adolescents, and young people in support of climate and environmental issues at the local and community levels, as well as develop courses and training on financial education, finance, and green entrepreneurship.

Expected Results
- Local initiatives designed and implemented for the mobilization of children, adolescents, and young people: Training children, adolescents, and young people as multipliers to support mobilization and participation in selected territories, to be executed by UNICEF. Developing financial education workshops, with an emphasis on the green economy and sustainable entrepreneurship, to be executed in conjunction with BANCO POPULAR. Raising awareness among children, adolescents, young people, teachers, and communities about climate change, natural resources, environmental protection, and hygiene. Guaranteeing adolescent and youth participation in discussion and decision-making spaces on climate action issues through networks of children, adolescents, and young people. Implementing local initiatives for the recovery of materials for recycling, cleaning community areas, reforestation, and water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions, among others.
- Indicators: At least 120 children, adolescents and young people between 13 and 24 years old trained as multipliers to support mobilization and participation in educational centers
