The Eurobodalla Shire Council is accepting applications from community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations for the Youth Development Grants Program to develop projects which show evidence of tangible benefits for the youth of Eurobodalla.
Suitable projects might address:
- social engagement with the community
- educational and cultural opportunities
- skills development
- youth leadership
- resilience and mental health training opportunities
- employment and pathway opportunities.
Funding Information
Grants are generally up to a maximum of $500 (Council reserves the right to allocate more or less funding to any particular application).
Guidelines
- Youth Development Grants must be used in 2022 unless otherwise negotiated.
- The funding must be used for the project described on the application form and take place in the Eurobodalla Shire. Funds are not transferable to another organisation or project.
- Projects will not be funded in retrospect, that is your activity must occur after the grant has been issued.
- Successful applicants are required to sign a waiver prior to the grant monies being issued. The waiver absolves Eurobodalla Shire Council of all liability in relation to your group’s grant funded activity.
- Successful applicants must give appropriate acknowledgment of Council’s support for the project on all publicity material, reports and awards.
- Ensure that your group has adequate insurance coverage for your activity. Eurobodalla Shire Council accepts no responsibility for activities conducted through its’ grant programs.
- Council is not obliged to give the full amount nominated in your application. Your group should have alternate plans for funding its planned activity.
- Successful applicants are to provide Council with a written report by Friday 5 November 2022. The report must include information about how a grant was spent and the benefits the activity provided to the community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- Your group needs to be not-for-profit and either incorporated or able to prove that they are a bona fide Eurobodalla based community group or a service with the primary objective of supporting young people.
- Your group or service can contribute some financial support or volunteer labour to the activity.
- Your group or service can show that it has adequate insurance coverage for the activity.
- Your group or service does not have any outstanding debts to Council.
- Your group will use the grant to achieve one or more of the following outcomes in your local community:
- Encourage people in the wider community to be socially engaged with young people
- Provide an opportunity for young people to be engaged in educational and cultural activities and/or for personal growth and development
- Allow young people an opportunity to develop a new skill
- Increase the capacity of youth to lead
- Builds resilience and support for young people’s mental health
- Increase exposure of youth to training opportunities
- Develop employment and pathway opportunities for young people to enter the workforce
- Successful applicants are required to:
- Provide bank details for electronic transfer of funds and
- Sign and comply with the funding agreement accepting the conditions of funding.
