Youth In Action Grants ($1,000) in Canada

Have a great idea for a project that would help other youth? Need $1,000 to make it happen? Apply for a Youth In Action Grant!

United Way Perth-Huron wants to fund great ideas of young leaders (like you!) who are working to make positive change in their community.

What are some project ideas? 

Events, workshops, guest speakers, multi-media presentations, musical acts, skill development, collective brainstorming, discussions of tough topics.

What kind of youth projects are they looking for? 

• New projects that they haven’t seen before.
• Projects that aim to improve the lives of youth and/or their community.
• Projects with youth working together.
• Projects that tell us and others about youth issues and concerns.
• Projects that take place in Perth and/or Huron Counties.

What can they use the money for? 

• Direct programming (resources, guest speakers, thank you gifts, non-cash prizes).
• Project materials (printing, photocopying, food, promotional).
• Equipment (short term rental) and facility rentals.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, what do I need?

• To be a Lead Youth Applicant (ages 14-24).
• To have an Adult Trustee (age 25+) that supports the project, will help you handle the money and complete a final report.
• To have a project that:
  • A youth team plan and implement, that helps other youth and gets them involved.
  • Is legal and safe.
  • Is open, unbiased and accessible to ALL youth.
• To know what you want to see happen because of the project
