Deadline: 7-December-2025
Designed to build solidarity and collective power, these grants support Women’s Rights Organisations (WROs), Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), LGBTQIA+ organizations, and other civil society groups to influence laws, funding, and accountability for GBV prevention at national and regional levels.
These grants focus on three main objectives. First, they aim to strengthen collective power and collaboration by supporting organizations to build and sustain inclusive networks and coalitions. By promoting shared leadership, equitable participation, and solidarity across movements, the grants help amplify the voices of diverse groups working to prevent GBV. Second, they drive evidence-informed advocacy by funding campaigns that reflect local priorities and strengths, enabling organizations to engage governments, donors, ASEAN bodies, and other stakeholders to make GBV prevention a central policy and funding priority. Third, the grants support capacity building and knowledge sharing, providing advocacy training, creating accessible guides and resources, and helping organizations adapt and sustain effective approaches over time.
The Advocate Grants are offered across three streams. Stream 1, Participation and Representation, funds involvement in regional and global conferences, dialogues, and advocacy spaces to ensure Southeast Asian voices are visible in key decision-making platforms, with grants ranging from AUD 5,000 to 7,000. Stream 2, Advocacy Campaigns and Strategies, supports projects with clear advocacy goals aimed at changing laws, policies, funding decisions, and public opinion. This stream helps design and implement advocacy efforts while strengthening organizational skills, with grants ranging from AUD 7,000 to 30,000. Stream 3, Coalition and Network Strengthening, funds activities that build, grow, or strengthen networks and alliances working on GBV prevention, fostering sustainable, inclusive, and collaborative structures to amplify shared influence and solidarity. Grants in this stream also range from AUD 7,000 to 30,000.
Eligible applicants include civil society, non-governmental, and non-profit organizations legally operating in Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, or Vietnam. The Advocate Grants provide a strategic platform for local organizations to enhance collective advocacy, influence policy and funding decisions, and advance long-term efforts to prevent GBV across the region.
