(April 2020)
The COVID-19 Pandemic has become the most defining global humanitarian challenge of all times, triggering a deep economic crisis. As the coronavirus is impacting the daily lives of people and hampering economic activities in many countries, India is nowhere behind to get affected by this pandemic.
With the rapid increase in the cases of COVID-19 in the country, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), charitable organizations, and volunteers have stepped up their efforts to help mitigate this COVID-19 challenge. They are playing an essential role in providing humanitarian relief in the form of free meals and also opened shelter homes for thousands of stranded migrant laborers and the poor hit hard owing to loss of income during the lock-down.
Even India’s biggest Philanthropic and investing arms are aiding and collaborating with NGOs to reach out to the weaker sections of the population, especially vendors, daily-wage earners, gig-economy workers, and small businesses. Several organizations and foundations have come up with grant calls for NGOs to help tackle the challenges posed by the COVID-19 situation in India.
Funding is the need of an hour. Therefore, keeping this in mind, we have compiled a list of open grant opportunities for Indian NGOs to fight against novel coronavirus.
