Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is inviting applications from NGOs and civil society organizations (CSOs) to support the implementation of a project titled “Supporting national leadership in sustainable solutions and promoting local integration, voluntary return and social cohesion in the Central African Republic.” This project is funded by the Internal Displacement Solutions Fund (IDSF).
The project aims to enhance national leadership and coordination at both central and local levels for sustainable solutions. It promotes the integration of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Bria by improving access to housing, land, property rights, basic services, and livelihoods. Strengthening social cohesion and peace between IDPs and host communities is also a core goal.
The project will boost socio-economic resilience in Bria by supporting sustainable income-generating activities (IGAs) and encouraging peaceful coexistence. It will also improve technical and professional skills among beneficiaries, fostering economic autonomy through vocational training. Furthermore, the project will build the capacity of beneficiaries in agriculture and livestock production, promoting food security and long-term income opportunities.
The total budget for this call is 134,400,000 CFA francs, approximately 234,970 USD. The implementation period is five months from the date the contract is signed.
Eligible NGOs must meet several criteria. They must be legally registered as non-profit associations under Central African law or recognized by the government, with official operating documents and approvals. They must not be associated with terrorism, money laundering, or other activities that contradict UN values—failure to meet this criterion results in automatic disqualification.
Eligible NGOs must have at least three years of experience in development work, such as vocational training, agricultural and livestock development, durable solutions for displacement, and local development. They must have successfully completed at least two similar contracts worth a minimum of USD 200,000 with bilateral or multilateral partners within the past four years. At least one of these should relate to vocational training or socio-economic recovery.
Financially, applicants must show an average annual budget of at least USD 500,000 for 2022 and 2023, and they must have undergone at least one independent financial audit in the past three years. Being rated “low or moderate risk” under UNDP’s HACT procedures is an advantage.
NGOs should have an operational presence in Bria with qualified management staff familiar with local issues and geography. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is desirable. Applicants must demonstrate strong planning, programming, financial, and logistical management capabilities and be able to launch activities swiftly in complex environments.
