The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is kindly request to submit your proposal for “Building capacities of women entrepreneurs/collectives to enhance income and livelihoods in fringe areas of reserved forests”.
In this context, UNDP is seeking to engage an expert agency to – roll out capacity building and resilience program to improve the awareness about COVID in the community, support farmers and producer collectives, and strengthen it to cope with supply chain disruptions, support the development of women micro-entrepreneurs, and facilitate social protection for targeted households.
The objective of the proposed assignment would be:
- Development of 50 micro-entrepreneurs through training and capacity building of existing micro-entrepreneurs and SHG members through the Biz-Sakhi Module of UNDP.
- Training to 450 women farmers on improving the production processes in homestead vegetables, fungi-culture, NTFP and apiary, and herbal medicines through development and support to lead farmers.
- Promotion of producer collectives and individual micro-enterprises for improving / increasing production, value addition, marketing and business development.
- Support the collectives and micro-enterprises in market linkages and business development of the local and processed produces.
It is expected that the Service Provider would work towards achieving the following key outputs:
- Improved capacities of women to establish and run micro-enterprises, and development of a pool of women sourcing managers for supporting the producer collectives and micro-enterprises.
- Increase in income by collectivisation of production and marketing, and enhanced capacity of the small and marginal women entrepreneurs to scale up their business.
- Direct access to a wide range of nutritionally rich food leading to health benefits by improved immunity in the prevalent pandemic situation.
- Enable a value added community economic multiplier effect through low-cost technologies on value addition of high value local produces and market linkages.
Eligibility Criteria
- At least 5 years of experience in working in farm and non-farm sector capacity building projects with women organisations, and livelihood restoration and environment protection.
- At least 5 years of experience of facilitating market linkages for farm and nonfarm sector of members of women organisation.
