Deadline: 07-Oct-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) is rolling out a new initiative in Haiti’s Grand’Anse region aimed at strengthening food security, livelihoods, and climate resilience for vulnerable communities.
The program combines agricultural support, cash assistance, and environmental interventions to address the immediate and long-term challenges faced by families in the region.
The initiative focuses on providing agricultural inputs and food assistance for assets, ensuring that households not only have access to immediate nutrition but also the means to build sustainable food production systems. Alongside these efforts, cash and voucher assistance will be introduced to give families greater flexibility in meeting their essential needs while stimulating local markets.
Another core element of the project addresses natural resources and climate action. Communities will be engaged in activities that help restore degraded environments, reduce the impacts of environmental pollution, and enhance resilience against climate-related shocks. These integrated interventions are designed to strengthen both community well-being and ecological sustainability.
An important outcome of the program will be the submission of a comprehensive Community Planning Process (PCP) report within four weeks after the workshops. This report will represent all the targeted communal sections and will be developed according to WFP’s standard framework. It will incorporate guiding questions from the Resilience PCP annex to ensure alignment with best practices and effective planning.
Through this multi-sectoral approach, WFP aims to create immediate relief while laying the foundation for long-term stability and resilience in Haiti’s Grand’Anse region.
