Are you an up-and-coming animation filmmaker? Are you currently working on a new animation film and would like to make it better known? Would you love to experience presenting your project in a professional setting? If yes, then the French Embassy has organized a call for animation film projects for you!
Through its REAnimation programme (Strengthening networks of Ghanaian video games and animation films entrepreneurs), the French Embassy is expressing interest in offering young Ghanaian talents the opportunity to acquire visibility, co-production deals or work collaborations for their projects, while also giving the creators the chance to take part in an international event they would normally not have access to.
The 5 selected finalists will participate to the French Ghanaian Animation Days on May 4 th – 6 th and get the opportunity to pitch their project to a panel of French and Ghanaian judges made up of producers, distributors and investors.
The winner will receive an accreditation and support to attend the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June, in France.
Eligible Projects
You can submit projects for:
- short animation films
- long animation films
- animated series
Required Documents
Required documents to submit an animation film project:
- Narrative elements (on average between 5 and 10 pages)
- Project introduction (title and representative image of the project, format, target audience)
- Synopsis (short summary of the story)
- Project treatment (detailed description of the story)
- Project concept (graphical and musical treatment, atmosphere, references)
- Author’s intention outline (origin of the project, aims/intentions)
- Outline of the project’s advancement: current phase and forthcoming stages, objectives, eventual contracted commitments (mention the name of the producer in this case).
- Graphic elements (no restriction in length)
- Storyboard (full or partial)
- Available graphic elements: backgrounds/sets, characters, model sheets, graphic research materials, references, etc.
- Administrative elements
- Author(s) CV(s)
- Note explaining the copyright situation (a transfer of rights statement if the topic is taken from a work that already exists)
