The ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe has launched a Call for Applications for the ADAMI TANDEM programme, which is open to broadcasters and TV journalists from the six EU Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
ADAMI TANDEM is a new media initiative and a unique opportunity for journalists working for broadcasters in the Eastern Partnership Countries to build connections with Western European broadcasting companies and to jointly produce news pieces with colleagues from the EU.
Criteria
- Journalists working for broadcasters in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine on cultural diversity topics can now submit proposals for news pieces up to four minutes in duration which they intend to produce for broadcast in their home country.
- ADAMI will team with editorial journalists from four Western TV stations to select the winning proposals, then co-produce and broadcast the selected ADAMI TANDEM stories.
- Among the participating TV stations are ZDF and SWR from Germany; these broadcasters will be looking for topics that appeal to audiences of their “Mittagsmagazin” and “Europamagazin” TV programmes. These are among the most popular programmes on German TV.
- Also participating are the French-German cultural channel ARTE with its daily “ARTE Journal” and Deutsche Welle with its programme “Focus on Europe”, which target international audiences and are broadcasted in several languages.
- Journalists working for one of these four TV programmes will be teamed with author/journalists from each selected projects to form “tandems”. Each “tandem” will then produce a short news piece for broadcast on channels in both Eastern and Western Europe.
