Are you a young journalist/ Media professional/ content creator with a passion for comedy and satire storytelling? Amman Comedy Club, in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, is offering scholarships for aspiring young journalists to participate in their “Stand-up Comedy and Satire Storytelling” workshop.
The workshop, to be held in May 2023, aims to teach participants the art of writing and performing stand-up comedy and satire writing, with an emphasis on storytelling. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to young journalists who are interested in developing their writing and storytelling skills in a comedic context.
Eligibility Criteria
- Amman Comedy Club is the first comedy training project in the MENA region, dedicated to promoting comedy culture in Jordan and the Arab world. The club aims to train aspiring young comedians, provide opportunities to showcase their talents, and connect them with media platforms interested in their work.
- Their vision is to be a network for leading content creators and performers for comedy in the Arab world, positioning Amman as the comedic content hub of the Arab world, and shaping the comedy culture in Jordan and the Arab world.
- To apply, participants must be between the ages of 18 and 45 and submit a one-minute video showcasing their talent in comedy or a 500-word comedic content they have written. Selected participants will attend all days of the training workshop in May 2023 and commit to taking part in follow-up activities, such as writing satirical pieces or do a satire video about a social issue, etc.
