Deadline: 01-Sep-2025
The IMS (International Media Support), under the REACH: Media Partnerships for Accountability and Trust program, is inviting Ukrainian public interest media outlets to apply for media grants. These outlets should focus on serving the community, safeguarding the public interest, and promoting Ukraine’s European integration. The grants aim to support the production of fact-based, inclusive, and engaging media content that contributes to democratic dialogue in Ukraine.
This open call addresses the increasing need for independent national, local, and hyper-local media that provide credible information, strengthen civic understanding, and encourage democratic participation. The goal is to improve public access to timely, accurate, and balanced information, foster democratic engagement, and promote inclusive storytelling that reflects Ukraine’s diverse population, including underrepresented and marginalized communities.
Budgets must be justified, cost-effective, and aligned with the proposed activities. Up to five projects may be selected, depending on the quality of applications and available funding. The recommended implementation period is from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. Projects targeting youth, women, marginalized groups, and communities with limited access to independent information or low trust in democratic processes will receive special consideration.
Applicants must be officially registered with the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine and must have been operating for at least one year before applying. They should produce original content, show a genuine interest in understanding their audience, and commit to integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in project design and implementation. Priority will be given to media organizations from Kherson, Mykolaiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions, though outlets from other regions are also eligible.
During the selection process, IMS will review applicants’ programmatic, financial, and administrative capacity and reserves the right to exclude those who do not meet the minimum requirements.
