The Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the European Union, is currently seeking applications for a competition among the media and journalists for the best material on the protection of human rights issues under the slogan “Know your Rights”.
Competition is organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic together with representatives of the European Union project “Promoting the rule of law in the Kyrgyz Republic”.
Competition Objectives
- Raising public awareness through the media to the topical issues of protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Creating a positive public opinion on the development of legal culture of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
- The education of law-abiding citizens of the republic and the elimination of legal illiteracy of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Promote the interests of journalists to objective coverage of topics on legal issues.
- Identify, summarize and popularize the best examples of journalistic creativity on legal issues.
Eligibility Criteria
- The media (legal entities) – the media registered on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at a wide audience and the audience mostly journalistic materials.
- Journalists (individuals) – the authors (including freelancers) media.
- Participation in the contest is initiated by the Participant
- Self-nomination or nomination of media outlets, or the organizer of the contest with the consent of the author’s material.
- The competition provides a maximum of five applications for each category from one participant. One competition material can be submitted to the contest only in one category.
- Competition Language – Kyrgyz, Russian.
- Participation in the contest is voluntary and free. The age of participants is not limited.
