Applications are now open for the Arab and Visual Media Award to recognize outstanding achievements in journalism and media across the Arab world, encouraging excellence, creativity, and integrity in reporting and presentation.
The award encompasses several key categories that reflect the diversity of Arab media. The main Arab Media Award recognizes the best journalistic investigation that addresses topics of public interest—humanitarian, cultural, sports, or social—emphasizing depth, objectivity, and documentation from original sources. It values relevance to society, quality of coverage, and effective use of journalistic tools such as visuals and infographics.
The Political Journalism Category honors outstanding analyses or investigations on current issues significant to the Arab region and beyond. It rewards analytical depth, factual richness, and balanced presentation, encouraging political awareness and understanding among audiences.
In the Best Columnist Category, recognition is given to column writers whose consistent and thoughtful contributions in print or online publications have positively influenced readers and society. The decision for this award is made directly by the Award’s Board of Directors.
The Economic Journalism Category highlights exceptional economic reporting that contributes to spreading economic awareness and understanding. It emphasizes research effort, use of up-to-date data, analytical depth, and clear presentation of local and global economic issues.
Within the Visual Media Awards, several television program categories are recognized. The Best Economic Program award honors comprehensive, well-researched, and fact-based economic content that effectively uses technology and expert insights to make information accessible to the public.
The Best Social Program category celebrates programs addressing family, youth, women, and community issues with a focus on societal values, human interest, and constructive dialogue.
The Best Sports Program award recognizes coverage that promotes sports ethics, inclusivity, and cultural awareness while maintaining objectivity and avoiding fanaticism.
The Best Cultural Program acknowledges outstanding coverage of arts, literature, and cultural creativity, balancing analytical depth with accessible presentation.
The Best Documentary Category celebrates original Arabic-language productions that excel in research, creativity, and storytelling, providing comprehensive and evidence-based portrayals of important topics.
Finally, the Media Personality of the Year Award is presented to a distinguished Arab media figure whose career has significantly shaped the regional media landscape. This recognition honors creative vision, leadership, and lasting impact across journalism, visual, and digital media. It is conferred directly by the Award’s Board of Directors.
The Arab Media Award continues to serve as a benchmark for journalistic excellence in the Arab world, inspiring media professionals to uphold truth, innovation, and social responsibility in their work.
