Nominations are now open for the Startup Awards by #StartupSouth. Startup Awards is a celebration of individuals and organizations (both public and private) that have shown verifiable track record support for innovation and the #StartupSouth ethos.
#StartupSouth is inspiring a generation of founders building high scale innovation driven ventures in Nigeria’s frontier cities starting from the South-South/South-East regions. They believe in the power of entrepreneurship for development and for several years supported founders building high scale ventures across Nigeria.
The awards cover 20 Categories with both Public Voting and Jury components.
Award Categories
- Startup of the year [National] – An award in recognition of a venture backed Startup with spread across the Country. They must be less than or 3years old to qualify
- Startup of the year [Regional] – An award in recognition of a Venture backed Startups from the region with impressive growth result
- Inspirational Founder of the year [National] – An award in recognition of an Iconic founder of Nigerian HQed Startup with impressive growth trajectory within 3years
- Inspirational Founder of the year [Regional] – An award in recognition of an Iconic founder of Nigerian HQed Startup with impressive growth trajectory within 3years
- Next Rated Startup – An award in recognition of an early stage Regional HQed Startup with impressive growth trajectory within 12Months
- Public Institution of the year [National] – An award in recognition of a National Public Institution with the most support for Startups
- Public Institution of the year [Regional] – An award in recognition of a subnational Public Institution with the most support for Startups & Innovation
- Innocent Chukwuma Award for Innovation [Institution] – An award in honour of Innocent Chukwuma to an organization in recognition of her contribution to the development of the Innovation Ecosystem
- Innocent Chukwuma Award for Innovation [Individual] – An award in honour of Innocent Chukwuma to an individual in recognition of his/her contribution to the development of the Innovation Ecosystem
- Best Startup Coverage TV [National] – An award in recognition of a national Television with the most support and coverage for Startups
- Best Startup Coverage TV [Regional] – An award in recognition of a subnational Television with the most support and coverage for Startups
- Best Startup Coverage [Radio] – Regional [An award in recognition of a subnational Radio Station with the most support and coverage for Startups
- Best Startup Coverage [Print] – An award in recognition of a Print Platform with the most support and coverage for Startups
- Best Startup Coverage [Blog] – An award in recognition of a Non-Technology Online Platform with the most support and coverage for Startups
- Best Technology Blog – An award in recognition of a Technology Online Platform with the most impactful following and reportage
- 15/ Best Startup/Technology Show [TV] – An award in recognition of the most impactful Startup/Technology Show]
- Most Inspiring Startup Community [Regional] – An award in recognition of a the most vibrant Subnational Startup Community
- Most Active Regional Focused Angel Investor [Male] – An award in recognition of a the most active Angel Investor in the sub-region
- Most Active Regional Focused Angel Investor [Female] – An award in recognition of a the most active Angel Investor in the sub-region
- Most Inspirational Regional Technology Hub – An award in recognition of a the most vibrant Technology Hub in the sub-region
- Startup Journalist of the Year Award [Merit] – An award in recognition of a the most active Journalist writing about the region.
