Do you want to create awareness in your community about the social cause or volunteered at organisations? Do you know a real life hero minimum of 18 years of age? Does their work have contributed to social transformation at the grassroots? Can his/her work supported by evidences in the form of photo, video, publication or personal testimonies? If yes, then nominate a real life hero for YES FOUNDATION awards 2016.
YES FOUNDATION believes that the amplifying nature of media and films can change mindsets. The film made by applicants is the first step in that direction.
Many of the applicants have made films on Everyday Heroes whose work has contributed to social transformation at the grassroots. Applicant may have also used their films to support Everyday Heroes or create awareness in their community about the social cause or volunteered at organisations.
YES FOUNDATION realise the need to collaborate with emerging social entrepreneurs to help them grow to create long lasting social interventions.
Award Categories
- Everyday Hero Award – To recognize individuals whose work has benefited the community at large; as a filmmaker, applicant can nominate the individual featured in their short film for the “Everyday Hero” Award.
- Changemaker Award – To recognize filmmakers, like applicants who have made a social difference through their film; in case applicant have engaged with social causes post-participation or used their film to create awareness he/she can apply for the “Changemaker” Award.
Award Information
- Top 2 Everyday Heroes will receive a cash prize of INR 1 Lakh each.
- Top 2 Changemakers will receive a cash prize of INR 1 lakh each.
Nomination Criteria
- Only individuals of minimum 18 years of age are eligible for nomination
- The nominee needs to be a real life everyday hero featured in your YIAC film
- The nominee’s work needs to be real and non-fictional and must have valid supporting evidence in the form of photo, video, publication or personal testimonies
- The nominee can be a full-time/part-time employee/volunteer associated with any governmental/non-governmental social development organizations (NGOs) or be working as a social entrepreneur
- Finalists will be shortlisted basis nominator’s testimony, uniqueness of social initiative, and the outcomes for the beneficiary community
