The Aalto Creatives Art & Tech Open Call 2025 invites artists, designers, game developers, and creative professionals to apply with innovative projects that combine technology and art. This initiative supports groundbreaking ideas that use digitalisation to advance the creative industries.
The call targets creatives and entrepreneurs who are eager to explore new possibilities at the intersection of art and technology. It aims to fund projects that are not only imaginative but also capable of producing a prototype or demo.
Projects may address topics such as new formats for audiovisual storytelling, technology-driven art and entertainment, computationally enhanced creativity, and the development of interactive experiences. While these areas are suggested, applicants are welcome to propose other ideas that align with the core theme.
Winners will gain access to state-of-the-art facilities at Aalto Studios and Aalto MAGICS in the newly established Marsio building. In addition to access to these resources, each selected project will receive development funding of EUR 2000–4000.
Project timelines will depend on the availability of equipment, facilities, and staff, with implementation expected to take place between December 2025 and July 2026.
Applications are open to teams that include researchers, students, startups, and other creative professionals. Proposals must show a clear concept for creating digital content or prototypes and outline the technological tools required.
Applicants must be residents of the Helsinki Capital Region to be eligible for consideration.
