Deadline: 20-Sep-2025
The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) has launched an open call inviting cultural and intercultural organizations across the Euro-Mediterranean region to bring vibrant creativity to Alexandria in late 2025.
The Anna Lindh Foundation is inviting cultural and intercultural organizations from the Euro-Mediterranean region to propose creative events in Alexandria as part of its role as the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue for 2025. The call seeks to transform the city into a hub of artistic expression, intercultural dialogue, and youth-driven creativity through non-ticketed cultural activities.
Applicants are encouraged to design inclusive and vibrant experiences such as performances, visual installations, culinary storytelling, heritage workshops, and sensory art. These activities may be hosted in both public and indoor spaces across Alexandria, from iconic landmarks like the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Qaitbay Citadel to cultural hubs and community spaces. Projects are expected to highlight the power of culture as a unifying force, fostering social inclusion and celebrating the diversity of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Applications should include a comprehensive breakdown of how funds will be used, covering elements such as venues, equipment, materials, artist fees, transportation, meals, international travel, and accommodation. While financial support will be provided in the form of lump sums, applicants are strongly encouraged to contribute part of the costs themselves or through local partners. This co-funding approach not only strengthens the sustainability of the projects but also ensures a greater impact and broader reach.
Funding is available under two categories. Small-scale projects can receive up to €2,500 and should involve a maximum of three individuals, while medium-scale projects can access between €2,500 and €5,000, covering up to five individuals. The grants are designed to support essential implementation costs while encouraging creativity and inclusivity.
The call is open to intercultural entities and organizations capable of developing non-profit cultural activities to be carried out in Alexandria between October and December 2025. Projects should demonstrate culture’s role in driving social cohesion, showcase the diversity of the Euro-Mediterranean region, and create interactive, people-centered experiences that connect with the residents of Alexandria.
This opportunity reflects the Foundation’s mission to support dialogue, cultural diversity, and collaboration across borders, offering a platform for organizations to contribute to a shared Mediterranean identity through innovative cultural engagement.
