Thomson Reuters Foundation, in partnership with the European Forum Alpbach is inviting applicants for its Liberty and Security Program 2019.
The focus of this workshop, taking place from 22-27 August 2019 in the unique setting of the Austrian Alps, will be on democracy, politics, and law.
Benefits
They will cover their travel costs (up to EURO 300 per Person), accommodation costs from August 22-27 and the participation fee at the Political and Legal Symposium.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to participate, applicants will need to:
- Be a professional journalist from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Possible countries are: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia.
- Have a strong interest as well as a professional focus on the topics democracy, politics and law.
- Be active in working in any of those media: print, radio, TV, or online.
- Have a minimum of one year’s experience in the profession.
- Be either working full-time for a media organisation or be a freelancer whose main work is journalism.
- Commit to writing at least one article that will be published in their media (regional, national language).
