Applications are open for “Green Economy: A Press Tour to the UK for Russian Journalists” that is provided by the Reporting Climate Change Program.
In February, beginning journalists from Russia are offered the opportunity to visit the UK as part of a press tour.
As the processes of globalization accelerate, societies in Russia and the UK face similar challenges. The Foundation’s press tours are organized in order to help representatives of these two countries exchange knowledge and best practices.
The Green Economy is an economy that truly “improves the human condition, and effectively allocates social costs for protecting the environment and saving resources” (United Nations Environment Program). Undoubtedly, cooperation and information exchange are extremely important for this process. In the UK, the green economy is given more and more attention, and 2018 should be the cleanest in terms of energy production.
Key Issues
The press tour is an intensive 5-day trip, during which the participants of the trip will meet with experts, journalists and officials working in this field, as well as attend seminars on the following key issues:
- low-carbon energy in the UK
- ongoing research in the field of green technologies and development of batteries
- Increase in social responsibility of business
- reasonable use of resources
- Paris Climate Agreement
- low-carbon economy

Eligibility Criteria
- Only active journalists can apply for participation in the press tour.
- Knowledge of English is not a prerequisite for participation, but it will help to get a great benefit from the press tour.
