Deadline: 30-Nov-025
The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) has announced a new funding opportunity to support initiatives addressing the issue of missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Notifications of selection are expected in December 2025, with projects commencing upon the signing of Grant Agreements. Each project may run for a maximum duration of six months, providing a focused timeframe for achieving tangible impact.
Applicants may request funding between EUR 3,000 and EUR 5,000. While ICMP will accept applications from single organizations, it strongly encourages joint applications submitted by two or more eligible entities. For joint proposals, higher funding amounts may be considered, depending on the availability of funds and the overall quality of submitted applications. This approach aims to promote collaboration and strengthen the collective capacity of civil society to address challenges related to missing persons.
Eligible applicants include associations of families of missing persons and civil society organizations that are legally registered as not-for-profit entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in project implementation and sound financial management, supported by annual financial reports. Importantly, proposed projects must directly address the issue of missing persons, ensuring that resources are used to advance truth, justice, and accountability for affected families and communities.
This funding opportunity reflects ICMP’s ongoing commitment to supporting civil society in efforts to locate, identify, and advocate for missing persons. By fostering partnerships and encouraging community-driven initiatives, the program seeks to strengthen local capacities and sustain momentum toward addressing one of the country’s most pressing human rights issues.
