UK Aid Direct has announced a new funding round for Community Partnership and Impact grants, which will open on Wednesday 4 April 2018 and lasts till Wednesday 13 June 2018 to support initiatives that focus on delivering results on a small scale, pilot new or innovative approaches, focus on the most marginalised, and work at the community level.
Strengthening grants of up to £100,000 and Network grants of up to £1,000,000 will be made across 2 thematic areas:
- Women’s social, economic and political empowerment through supporting women-led civil society organisations.
- Strengthening civil society capacity for the early prediction of identity-based violence including mass atrocities; and amplifying and supporting responses to early warnings in order to prompt timely and effective interventions that prevent escalation and better protect populations from the threat of violence.
UK Aid Direct Community Partnership grants can be used to fund new, time-limited projects of up to 36 months (3 years) duration. Maximum grant allowance per organisation of 2 Community Partnership grants at any one time. Community Partnership grants are open to applications from small, UK registered, non-government organisations.
Total grant funding from DFID over the last 3 years must not exceed 40% of the total income for the organisation over the same period. This excludes incomes received through commercial contracts with DFID.
