To deal with discrimination in football during the 2018 World Cup pre-match, a $ 110,000 fund is available as part of a project between Fare and FIFA. Fare has set in motion one new series of grants to support the work of organizations in Africa, Asia, America and Oceania. The purpose is to stimulate the social change through the football and develop specialized knowledge to compare discrimination and the exclusion.
The grants will allow organizations to track incidents and discrimination issues in national and international football through the development of debates, mechanisms for change and capacity building. At the same time, they are available for football initiatives for development that support social inclusion at the community level.
Executive Director of Fare Piara Powar said, “As a universal language, football offers its own methodology to deal with discrimination, promote empowerment and integration. We hope these grants are used by organizations around the world to develop innovative ideas that create social change through football.”
The grants are divided into three categories: for football activities up to $ 1,000 is available ; for exchange of information , up to $ 2,500 is available ; and grants of up to $ 5,000 are available to develop specialized knowledge and innovations.
