Applications for Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving community funding scheme 2018 will open on 1 May 2018 with the total funding of £82,500 to help small groups and organisations make a difference in their neighbourhood.
Applications can be made online on there website from 1 May and will close on 31 July. Groups can prepare their application by reading through the FAQs on the website and checking the entry criteria.
Last year 164 groups received funding pots of £500 to help them build a brighter future in their local communities. The deserving winners shared a total fund of £82,000, and they are now enjoying spending the money in their area, with communities all over the country reaping the benefits.
In 2017, hundreds of community groups, clubs and organisations from across the UK applied to Grassroots Giving and a record 40,000 votes were cast online and in Skipton’s branches by the public.
Grassroots Giving was launched in 2013 to celebrate the Society’s 160th anniversary and proved an immediate success. It was designed to reflect mutual roots and established to help people and communities to help themselves.
