The West Virginia ‘Outdoor Heritage Conservation Fund’ (OHCF) is now accepting applications for small and large grants. Up to $1.2 million may be awarded, including $100,000 available for small grants. Applicants must use the Eligibility Assessment to determine if the project qualifies for funding. Review the Technical Assistance Manual for grant program and application details, and complete the Grant Application.
Fiscal Year 2018 Grant Applications will be accepted through January 31, 2018. All 2017 Grant Applications accepted as complete but not selected for Fiscal Year 2017 funding will be automatically considered for Fiscal Year 2018 funding. Another application will not be needed. The OHCF board expects to make grant selections during the first quarter of 2018.
The OHCF’s work is guided by an 11-member board of trustees, drawn from land trusts; the Division of Forestry; the Division of Natural Resources; outdoor recreation and sportsmen’s groups; and professionals in biology, ecology, forestry and public health.
The Outdoor Heritage Conservation Fund protects lands and natural resources. The fund is used to acquire interest in real property for conservation in keeping with the Wildlife Conservation Action Plan or other conservation plans and to award competitive grants for conservation purposes to eligible recipients.
