Deadline: 12-Aug-2025
The Government of New South Wales is inviting applications for its Seniors Festival Grant Program, which provides funding for community events and activities during the two-week festival period in March. The program aims to help older community members stay active, healthy, and engaged.
The grant supports a wide range of local community organizations, with a focus on regional NSW. It encourages partnerships with community groups and services, offering programs for diverse communities. The program seeks to empower older people to stay connected and to increase the capacity of existing programs and activities.
Priority is given to seniors aged over 60, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people over 50, seniors from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, senior LGBTIQA+ individuals, seniors living with disability, dementia, chronic disease or mental illness, senior carers, and seniors in rural, regional, and remote areas.
The total funding available is $200,000. There are two categories of grants: $1,500 to $5,000 for all eligible applicants to host local community programs and activities, and $5,001 to $10,000 for local governments to host larger-scale community and regional events.
All applicants must propose free or heavily discounted programs for seniors in NSW. Projects must take place within NSW during the festival, between March 2 and 15, 2026, and be open to all who identify as seniors.
Eligible applicants include incorporated not-for-profit community organizations and NSW local councils operating under the Local Government Act 1993. Individuals, applicants with outstanding reports from previous funding, government agencies, educational facilities, for-profit organizations, and unincorporated groups without eligible subcontracting organizations are not eligible.
