The Eurasian Cooperation Fund (ECF) announces the acceptance of the “Baku Conflict School” for young people, funded by the European Union.
“Baku Conflict School” consists of academic and practical sessions on various topics, covering formal and informal education methods. In addition to topics such as peace and conflict theories, the sessions cover various current topics such as the situation of refugees and internally displaced persons, the role of the media in conflict resolution, the gender aspect of conflicts, and public diplomacy. Independent experts, scientists and representatives of state institutions will be invited to “Baku School of Conflict”.
Purpose
- The purpose of “Baku Conflict School” is to increase the knowledge and skills of Azerbaijani youth in the field of conflict and peace, and thus to contribute to the formation of a new generation that can successfully participate in the discussions on the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia on various international platforms. The program of the school will be held in Azerbaijani language.
Benefits
- Participants who have successfully completed the “Baku Conflict School” will have the opportunity to receive small financial support for their social activities. Also, the participants who have successfully completed the school will be able to become members of the “Conflict School Alumni Network”, which includes hundreds of young people, and take advantage of the events and trainings held within this network.
- Baku Conflict School” will be held on July 8-18, 2023. The format of the school is offline. During the “Baku School of Conflict” participants will be provided only with lunch and tea break. Please note that participants living outside the country and outside Baku will not be covered for accommodation and other living expenses.
Criteria
- Students aged 18-28, newly graduated young people and young professionals can apply to “Baku Conflict School”. Selection will be made based on applicants’ interest in the conflict area and other criteria. The selection of participants will be based on the application form and interviews.
