Deadline: 27-Nov-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has opened an important opportunity for work focused on protecting children and adolescents in the Amazon region of Brazil.
The initiative will take place in the states of Amazonas and Pará and aims to better understand and address the determinants of sexual violence affecting young people in these areas. With a budget of 150,000 USD, the project reflects a strong commitment to improving child protection systems in one of the country’s most vulnerable regions.
The opportunity involves carrying out a detailed study on the factors contributing to sexual violence in the Amazon. This includes the collection of qualitative data according to a pre-established conceptual framework, the preparation and validation of a comprehensive report, and the design and publication of the final study. Once completed, the research will be presented and launched during a virtual event, ensuring broad dissemination among stakeholders and decision-makers.
The initiative represents a significant step in promoting child protection and advancing knowledge about the social and structural causes of sexual violence. By producing and sharing reliable data, the project seeks to strengthen preventive measures, influence policy development, and support community-based actions that ensure safer environments for children and adolescents across the Amazon.
This opportunity highlights UNICEF’s ongoing role as a leader in research and advocacy for children’s rights. It calls for collaboration among researchers, institutions, and professionals committed to child protection, offering a meaningful chance to contribute to lasting positive change in the region.
